Teacher's Christmas Gifts

I love making gifts for the teachers. This is was no exception. So last night I put the finishing touches on these bottles. They are the Starbucks glass jars that contain my favorite mocha drink.....Yummy! I peeled off the labels and washed them to take off the adhesive and of course drank the coffee inside. After they dried I filled them with peppermint candy. Again I used the Wassill paper line from Basic Grey. I wish you could see all the details but the picture came out so so, you can't even see the glitter.

The teachers love getting homemade stuff all the time. I can not wait to see what they say. The boys were so excited to take them to school this morning. It makes me happy that they love when I make things for them to give out as gifts. Of course, they are my #1 fans. So we got 2 weeks left of the Christmas season, let's see how many other things I can make before the "big" day!

Happy Friday

Here is a Rock'N'Roll guiter purse I made. My sister came by last weekend to visit and it immediately caught her eye, so I gave it to her. I really spent alot of time on it. The paper mache purse was by Creative Imaginations and the paper was from Marah Johnson. I put epoxy glue on the guitar to give a dimensional look, and added glitter to the wings. The ribbon was added for a final touch.
I have a few more I made sitting on my shelve, I am wondering if I should just sell my designs on Esty.com???? I am going to mull over it a bit. I love making them, but I am on the fence about selling them. I find comfort giving my stuff away.

Ok! So I Am A Procrastinator.....You Think?

Oh My! Time has flown by. It has been forever since the last time I've updated my blog. I am raising my right hand, I promise not to let this much time pass us by ever again.

So, we are in December already, right smack in the middle of the Holiday season. I've been very busy as of late, trying to get this no job thing figured out. As it happens, when I have alot on my mind I do 1 of 2 things..................have an affair! That's with paper of course, and the other is take a long hot bath :-) and I've gone through alot of paper and a least a couple bottles of bubble bath...........LOL

My current paper affair is with this awesome paper I found at Hearts N Craft in Covina. I picked it up the last time I visited Los Angeles. Crazy me had no idea what I needed this paper for, but all I knew was, I HAD TO HAVE IT!

It is from the Basic Grey Christmas line called Wasill. So far I have made these 3, and I have tons of images stuck in my head just waiting for my hands to create the other designs. They need to be in the mail box by weeks end, if family & friends are to get one.

I really did miss blogging. I will see you tomorrow! Yes, I did say tomorrow. I've really have been in very creative spirits. I really can not wait to show you what I have made for the teacher's gifts this year. The boys are home as of Friday for 3 full weeks on Christmas vacation........YIKES!

Wow! It's been a while since I posted. I just recently made this thank you card, and loved the three dimensional look it has, this photos does not do it justice.

The paper and flowers are from Making Memories, the pearl brads are from K & Company, the stamp set is from Close To My Heart, and the ribbon from Maya. Hope you like it?

Today I am working on thank you mini cards to attach to the corsages for the whole football team's mothers for Saturdays championship game. The team's Mom called me and asked if I would help, naturally I said yes, and then she said all 5 of them will be at my house Friday to help with me attach to the flowers.....Yikes! Hate when this happens, I did not feel like hosting this in my home. Thank goodness everything is in order.......Wish me luck......I will post a picture of the finish product soon. .....Bye for now

Just Because card kit........

This was such an wonderful card kit. It was called Just Because, and it is from Close To My Heart. I received it free for customer appreciation month.

I normally do not buy kits because I like to design my own. So this kit sat around for about a month. It came in a cute recipe box with all the paper precut, stamps, ink, and ribbon.

On Tuesday night I thought I would open it up and try it. The instructions were so easy and when I started I could not stop. I made a total of 8 cards. It had enough to make 16.

This is a photo is of some of the cards. Hey maybe one of my lucky readers will get one in the mail soon?

Letting Go.........

Letting go was not as hard as I thought it would be.

Last night I was going through some old photos and came across one of the items I had displayed in my scrapbook room. Above is a little purse I made using some of my favorite scrapbook paper.
A couple of weeks ago I gave a box full of handmade items to an old dear friend who owns a gift shop in her home town. She was reluctant at first, but I insisted. I felt it was the right thing to do.
Now that I will have alot more time on my hands, I really need to think about what I really want to do with myself.........hmmmmm?

Is there a future in the World of Scrapbooks for me?

Happy Anniversary Babe

In honor of our wedding anniversary, I thought I would post a scrapbook layout of Manuel and I. This picture was taken in Cancun back in 2000. It was lots of sun and fun.

I have yet to scrap a recent photo of us, believe me when I say alot has changed in 8 years.....LOL. I have been taking alot more pictures of Manuel and I. My News Years resolution for 2008 was to take more pictures of us, and I pretty much stuck to it. My photographer in training (Vincent) has come to be very handy ;-)

Scrap Therapy!

I titled this post Scrap Therapy because that is what it is for me. It has been a hectic week and the only way I know how to unwind is through scrapping. It takes me to my own little world......But its ok, they like me here.......LOL

What a Saturday night! On a rare occasion, I get a chance to hang out with my scrap buddies. Shelly sent me an invite on Wednesday to come her house for a scrap day, and yes they did not fail to remind me that its been a full 8 months.....Yikes!

Sorry girls, been a little busy. Glad I went, I had a blast!

We started a monthy card exchange, and this is what I came up with. It took about 1 hour to make. I scored the cardstock, used sandpaper so that the white core of the paper could stand out, and then aged it with chocolate ink. Hope you like?

Until I scrap again...........Be back soon

Sweet and Simple

love this! This was a baby shower banner I made for my co-worker Kim. Her niece is having a shower this weekend, and Kim with the help of her sister has planned the whole shower. I thought it was so sweet how much thought Kim has put into it.
After the invitations were made I asked Kim to let me have the paper that was left over, (as if I dont have enough already)......LOL so that I can surprise here with this banner. I called it simple and sweet because I made it in 1 night. Hopefully Kim can get a full picture of it at the party.

Stay tuned for my next scrappy adventure!
