Monkey Business........

Boy was this one of my favorite projects ever. I was asked by my sister in law Caroline if I would make a Monkey themed diaper cake for a baby shower for her coworker. She was having a girl, and you know me........I love me some girly things, and I was up for the challege.

I had 1 day to make this work, talk about pressure. Off to the craft store I went! With the help of Caroline we started to make our vision come to life.

As we were "brainstorming" we thought why not make a banner and 3 shadow boxes for gift to Mommy to be. We started at 2:00pm, and get this!!! We finished @ 3:00am in the morning. It had to get done......we have a few hiccups, but nothing serious.

We used Bazzil cardstock for our project. Along with the Cricut Expression, and the Creative Critters cartridge we made it come to life. What I hope to get out of this was new clients to add to my list. I hope you like.

A Huge announcement

I love me some Christmas! I am so excited to annouce that I have decided to host my very 1st craft fair.
It all happened one night not to long ago when I was at my girlfriends house. We talked about many things, one being that I was unemployed and I was worried because Christmas was just around the corner. I hate for Santa not being able to stop by with my boys special Christmas request. The have been soooo good this year.
As I was showing her my lastest creation, a tribute shadow box for a friend's wife, she just started at for a while and had a huge smile on her face. She really loved it, and said that if I did not mind, and I was up to it she will host a craft show for me at the end of the month to help me sell all my crafts and design. I was stunned and excited that she would suggest this, and I thought I could do it. I already have tons of stuff IO already made. I am always working on different things every week.....I can't wait to share all the goodies.
Pictured above is a sneak peak at a Christmas banner I am working on. I plan on making a few of these, along with cards, and shadow boxes samples to take pre-orders for Christmas. Wish me luck, I hope this venture leads me to other things........Bye for now ♥

Just A Little Busy.........

Hey my fellow blogsters, yes my blog is seriously negleted. I am currently working full time for a Real Estate company, demoing at Best Buy, and Michaels for the Provocrafts products. I will not have a day off till next month.....but thank goodness I have a job, so no complaints here.

So I have not really had much time to work on my scrapbooking, but I will share a picture of a card, and envelope I recently made using the Expression, and the Bo Bunny paper line. Once my life gets back to normal I will be posting my latest creations, the ones I have waiting for me.....screaming to be completed.

Thanking Our Teachers

Each year I make something for my boys teachers to thank them for their hard work. This year I was inspired by another scrapbooker to decorate a jar, and fill it with candies....Who doesn't like candies, right?
I found these cute little jars at Walmart, and I used the Plantin cartridge using the Cricut expression machine. I was so happy to hear that the teachers loved the gift.

Busy Busy Busy......

Life has been a little hectic for me lately. As I have previously posted I had an awesome opportunity to teach others how to use Provo craft products. The first one I demo'd was the cricut cake.

The Cricut Cake is an machine that you can create great designs using edible product such as gum paste, frosting sheets, fondant, chesse, and even tortillas. Alot of the demostrators have made some great stuff with the machine. I made my sons birthday cake using the Cake. I had alot good feed back from customers on the machine, and I love that the cartridges can be used with the other Cricut Provo craft products. How awesome is that?

Then I was off to the Costco Road Show teaching the Cricut Expression to the many members. My manager said that our team did awesome. I was so excited to hear this because I had such a blast teaching what I am so passionate about. Scrapbooking has been part of my life for the last 13 years.

I cant wait to get my very own Expression, so that I can create all the great things my creative mind has been thinking about. Pictured here is a little shadow box I made using theOnce Upon A Princess, and the Give A Hoot cartridge. Hope you like it.

Capturing Special Moments.....

I took alot of candid shots of 3 of my boys just having a great time @ Huntington Beach, CA. The water was freezing cold, but that did not stop my boys from jumping in and enjoying the waves. Ohhhh, to be young again.
I could just go to the beach everyday and just sit in my beach chair just listening to the waves, and just look as far as my eyes could see. But on this day it was very special. I was seeing the beach through my childrens eyes, and capturing every single moment. How awesome is that?
Over 100 images captured, I have plenty of pictures to keep me scrapping for days, or weeks. So I went through the photos, printed just a few of my favorites, and just thought what should I doe with these?
First thing I did was to find the perfect printed paper that would look great with my photos, and that of course was the Abbey Road line, from Bo Bunny......and again I might add, one of my favorite scrapbook suppliers. So off to my friends Melissa scrapping garage to start creating.
I started with a couple of ideas and changed my mind, so into my stash I went to see what I coud find. What I found was this cute little chipboard tag mini book I purchased from Michael's @ the $1.00 spot. The project took me about 2 hours to complete, andI love the simplicity of how the mini book came out.

I hope you like my creation......have an awesome day everyone.

If Only Dreams Can Come True....

I dont ask for much, but I do have my dreams, just like everyone else does. But my dreams are never ending.... they consist of having a job I love, to create, inspire, teach.....and get paid for doing it. Many of you who have known me forever know that I LOVE SCRAPPING, and if you have to ask me for suggestions and ideas, be prepared because I am full of them. As a matter of fact, I am mentally creating right now in my head. Am I crazy? Or do I need AA classes for scrapaholics?
But guess what? I wont give up on my dreams......there is a job out there for me, I can feel it. I just need to find it, or it me.
Again the card I am posting is from the Be loved line from my previous post. Aren't the colors beautiful? But I can't help but feel like there is something missing, I just cant put my finger on it yet. Knowing me, I will probaly wake up in the middle of the night when it hits me, and will want to get up to add it to give it that finishing touch.....LOL. But hubby will be non to happy if he catches me scrapping in the wee hours, as he has many of nights.

everyone wants to BE LOVED......

I love this line from My Minds Eye called.... Be Loved. It went well with these pretty flowers from Prima that I found in my local Michael's craft store. I have been using my Fiskars scissors so much lately which gives my cards a deckle edge, a look that I have favored so much lately.

I have always layered my printed paper, trying to bring each paper in the collection together. My all time favorite color to scrap with is the color brown. I love how it looks with pink, light blue, green, and cream. I hope you like this card. Have a great week everyone......BBS

An Awesome Opportunity.......

I am going to CHICAGO.....Yippee! I haven't been this excited in such a long time. I stumbled across an opportunity to teach customers how to use the Cricut Expression and the Cricut Cake from Provocraft. I thought what a perfect job for me, I wonder if I can get hired. (Expression pictured below)

It was a such long process, with background checks, drug testing, I thought I would never hear the words you're hired. I couldn't believe it! The company will be shippig me the products of supplies to play and train with......Holy Moly! The best part is that I leave tomorrow morning for 4 days to Chicago for the Cricut Training Convention, all expense paid, flight, hotel, and the best part....I will have my own room.......Yippee =) We will also be trying Chicagos famous deep pan pizza, and visiting the local scrapbook store that will be open late for us.

There will be lot of training packed in those days, and about 200 demonstrators from all over the USA and Canada are attending. We will be staying at the Hilton which is right next to the O'Hare airport. Right now its about 2 in the morning and silly me is still working on these cute little cards that I will be swapping with other demostrators. I can't wait to see what they come up with, and bring home.

During the training, they will be teaching us how to use the Expression, Gypsy, the new Cuddlebug, and the latest thing to hit the market the Cricut Cake.........I'm in heaven! The Cricut Cake is similiar to the Expression but you will be able to decorate cakes just like those pretty ones they sell for hundreds of dollars. How cool is that.

I will be teaching @ the local craft store in Chino on Sundays for the next 2 months, and if all goes well, the job will contnue through the holidays and we will recieve the new product they will be introducing later this year. So come on by and say hello to me, I will be starting next Sunday. I will update you on what I learned when I get back.........Now off to the Windy City, wish me luck.

Huntington Beach Layout

How fun was this day at the beach. It as such a beautiful day in Huntington Beach, Ca. We had tons of fun and the weather couldn't be more perfect. I must have took well over 100 photos of Nicholas, his girlfriend Melissa, and my 2 youngest boys Vincent & Diego running and playing in the freezing cold waves.

I love these 2 images I caught of Nick & Mel holding on to dear life because they knew that the water that was about to hit them was very cold. Dont you wish that you were young and carefree again? I do.

For this layout I used Creative Imaginations paper line by Christine Adolph, I love it. The flowers are of course by Prima, ribbon by Making Memories, green pearls by Kaiker Kraft, and the cardstock by Bazzil.

Have a fabulous weekend........see ya soon!

Tribute To My Dad

Lately I have been missing my Dad so much, he has been gone for 13 years, and I had so many photos of him given to me by my Uncle Fernando. So I thought maybe I should put together an album for my boys to and family to enjoy. I also included a picture of my grandparents who were married in February 1936.
I found this cute little chipboard album at Michaels, and then started to look for paper that would work well with my old photos.
I walked in to my LSS Hearts N Crafts in Covina, CA and found a new line that they just gotten in by Bo Bunny called Mama-Razzi and the aged antique look of the paper was perfect for my project. Bo bunny never fails to amaze me with thier designs.

Christmas In Spring

I love it when it is overcast outside. It makes for great pictures. I have been lately into making Christmas cards in non-traditional colors, and here is my take this week.

The tag is from Jeni Bowlin, aren't those little birds adorable? I added glittler by Stickles, it sure makes them sparkle, and I like sparkley things. (Is sparkley a word?)

I have a few more Christmas cards I am working on, stay tuned.............

Cuteness alert! Lil Monster

How cute is this little monster? I made it from scraps left over from some Halloween cards I was working on. It is a band aid tin that I wrapped printed paper around it, added a dimensional sticker, some wording, and tons of ribbon.

To Early For Christmas Cards?

I don't think so! I had so much Cloe's Closet printed paper left over from making my twin mini album, I thought why not make Christmas cards.

I can't believe how busy I have been lately creating. I am getting ready to send some submissions in, and I can't wait. I feel that this is my year, and nothing is going to stop me.

On this card I used Jeni Bowlin journal card, Stickles, Pink Paislee glitter, Studio 8 rhinestones, Prima Flowers, May Art ribbon, and Making Memories Cloe's Closet line.

A Sneak Peak........

I thought I would post an update on what I am currently working on. It is a tribute to my Dad, a mini album. My Dad passed away 1997, and I miss him lots.
On the cover of the mini album is my favorite photo of him. I am so lucky to have an uncle who let me scan alot of photos that I did not have of him. I am proud to say that my Dad was very handsome, and yes my grandparents gave him a name that apparently he lived up to....LOL
I can't wait to show you the finished product.

My Twin Mini Book

My twin mini book has been a project I had been wanted to due for a very long time. I took a few of my favorite pictures of my twin Monica and I, and purchased a Bo Bunny mini book and went on a hunt for the perfect paper to use with the album.

I found Making Memories at my local Michael's and thought that color went perfect with all my images from way back when.

Just Believe

Just believe..........I have thought these words over and over again. It has been a favorite phrase of mine for years. I wanted to make a card with a cute rub on I found.

As I was sitting at my LSS store I though I wanted to do something different. I have been eyeing those cute little flowers that scrappers all over have been making out of printed paper.

I asked a fellow scrap artistfor help, and she said how difficult it was, and it takes time to make one. But as she was explaining this to me, she never once told me how to make it.

But if you know me, I only asked once for help. If I can't find the answer, then I move forward ,and make it my mission to learn on my own.

I simply cut a 12" printed card stock into 3/4" strips. I used 2 strips and fold them in half. So I took scissors and cut one side of the fold every 1/2" and started turning it in a circle. Every few turns, I put double sided tape on the bottom to keep it together. Just keep repeating the process until you get the desired look. I inked the edges and added Stickles for an added effect. I hope you guys like it.

I have found my MOJO again

So much has happened in the last year, where do I begin? I moved back to Southern California, and went from having a huge scrapbook room to none. This caused me to lose the urge to create anything. I stopped scrapbooking, card making, and posting anything here on my blog. I was layed off of one of my most favorite jobs ever as an administrator, was jobless for 8 months, found a new job only to be layed off again.

But change is good, and I am a firm believer that everthing happens for a reason. I just recently realized that scrapbooking has always been theraputic to me. I always seemed to scrapbook when needed to get away from all my worries. Which brings me here today, I seem to have found my Mojo again.........hurray!

So I hope to start inspiring you again when my new recent creations. Here is a spring card that I just worked on.
